We need to keep protecting ocean wildlife
This week, Senate confirmation hearings begin for Secretary of Interior and Secretary of Commerce—two of the people who will have the most responsibility over marine wildlife.
The future of iconic species like polar bears, sea otters and manatees depends on the work performed by these two agencies, and it’s critical that they hear from you.
Department of Interior and NOAA
The Department of Interior and NOAA (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) play a major role in protecting endangered species and the habitat they rely on for survival. Decisions about offshore drilling, sea turtle nesting grounds and management of the Marine Mammal Stranding Network are handled by these agencies, which is why it’s so important that their leadership understands the critical impacts they could have on ocean wildlife.
We can’t allow current protections to be undone—please take action today!
As Secretaries of Interior and Commerce, Mr. Ross and Representative Zinke need to hear from you. Hold them accountable for the protection of ocean species and let them know from day one that you care about the health and well-being of ocean wildlife.
