Help Combat the Plastic Pollution Crisis

Plastic pollution is a clear and present threat. In Thailand, a stranded pilot whale was found with 17 pounds of trash in its stomach. Another was found dead in Indonesia after digesting more than a thousand pieces of plastic, from bags to flip flops. And new science estimates blue whales may swallow 10 million microplastic pieces daily! We should not have to accept these tragic losses and impacts on marine life due to plastic pollution. The global ocean plastics crisis is one that we humans created, and it’s one that, together, we have the power to solve.

But we need all hands on deck—and that includes you.

As the largest economy in the world and one of the largest contributors globally to marine plastic pollution, the United States has an opportunity to help spearhead solutions. Nations around the world will look to the U.S. for leadership on fighting this crisis, and we need the Biden administration to make a splash at the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC.)

Tell lawmakers to support the U.S. taking action on the global plastics crisis.
