We Need Ocean Climate Action

Coral reefs are lifelines of the sea. The role they play in maintaining a healthy ocean ecosystem is immeasurable. Unfortunately, vital coral reefs across our ocean are under threat as they face the impacts of overuse, ocean acidification, and rising water temperatures caused by climate change. We need to take action to combat climate change and protect coral reefs before it’s too late.

Ocean Conservancy applauds the Biden administration’s release of the Ocean Climate Action Plan (OCAP) in March. It is the first of its kind and a commitment both to protecting our ocean and tackling the climate crisis. We now have a plan detailing how the U.S. can harness the ocean’s potential to provide climate solutions, protect coastal communities and protect our fragile coral reefs from climate change impacts. Let’s put it into action.

We need ocean advocates like you to call on the U.S. to deliver on our global commitments to address the climate crisis. Urge your leaders to act on climate change before it’s too late.
