Say Farewell to Plastic Foam Once and For All

There’s one kind of trash that always seems to show up wherever we go: plastic foam.

In nearly 40 years, volunteers with Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup® have collected over 9.4 million plastic foam cups, plates and takeout containers. Once you start looking for plastic foam, chances are you’ll find it everywhere. And plastic foam wreaks havoc: it contaminates recycling systems, harms wildlife and ultimately spells disaster for our ocean.

The Farewell to Foam Act would phase out plastic foam foodware, packing peanuts and single-use foam coolers starting in 2028. Let’s come together and call on Congress to pass this crucial legislation and protect our ocean and our beaches for generations to come.

Join us and urge your lawmakers to say farewell to plastic foam once and for all.
