Congress passed the Endangered Species Act more than a half century ago to safeguard endangered and threatened species and their habitats both in our ocean and on land. In the last nearly 52 years, this critical law has helped preserve countless species and save them from extinction.
But now, the Endangered Species Act is under threat as the administration and some members in Congress look to roll back critical protections for endangered wildlife.
