Our Ocean is Sending a Warning
Our ocean is sending a warning, and it's time for Congress to listen.
Marine heatwaves are causing coral reef die-offs. Brown pelicans and other seabirds are washing up on California beaches in record numbers due to harmful algal blooms destroying their food supply. A rare, supercharged El Niño is picking up steam in the Pacific Ocean.
And with the Trump administration announcing it will dismantle a $368 million ocean-monitoring system, on top of an alarming budget proposal to significantly reduce funding for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), we need all hands on deck.
Our elected officials must take action to move away from dirty fossil fuels that exacerbate climate change and toward clean energy. Add your name for National Ocean Month now.
