Take Action to Support Thriving Fisheries
From warming waters to ocean acidification to sea level rise, climate change is causing fish populations to shift their ranges, become less productive and face new ecological challenges.
Rep. Jared Huffman (CA-02) and Rep. Ed Case (HI-01) just introduced legislation in Congress that offers a bold and comprehensive update to the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, our nation’s premier marine fisheries law. The bill, the Sustaining America’s Fisheries for the Future Act, will help our marine fisheries adapt to climate change, support vulnerable fishing communities and make fisheries management more inclusive.
Take a minute to say “thank you” to your congressional representatives to let them know that you support their solutions to the important issues fish and the fishing communities face today.
We have the opportunity now to help ensure our fisheries are sustainably managed and ready for climate change so that we can enjoy the bounty of fish for generations to come.
